baby girls...

Yet another new family for me. I love when people come to me for pictures because they've seen work I've done for their friends or family. Such an ego booster! I did a newborn session for some cousins of this family just a couple of months ago. (You might remember the sweet little babe who slept on the rolled up pink and brown towels.) I was soooo impressed when this family was not only on time for their session with a two-year-old and two-month-old, but were even 10 minutes early for their 9am appointment on a Monday morning, after driving from an hour away! I am so jealous of their ability to do that! I'm one of those people who never leaves enough time to get myself to where I need to be on time. I'm consistently a few minutes late. I drive myself nuts with that. Anyway, back to their session... Two-year-old A didn't really think having pictures taken was a very good idea. Luckily she cooperated just enough for us to get some really cute shots of her. Baby K was just so mellow and didn't care that there were bright lights flashing at her (except for the family shots at the end... not so happy then). They are so cute! Check them out...

It was so nice to meet you! Thanks for making the drive up, too! I'll e-mail you when your cd is ready to mail out. :)

three years old...

This is E. I've been doing sessions with her since she was just six months old. Yes, she was one of my first paying customers, back when I was still trying to get the hang of this whole photography thing. :) Her mom picked out some new outfits to have custom-made from Etsy for this session. Such beautiful outfits! They also requested that we go shoot out in a field, so that's what we did. Here are a handful of my favorites...

They even brought along some balloons that matched her dress... I looooove when people put so much thought into their sessions!

We went hunting for dandelion puffies. She couldn't blow quite hard enough to send the little seeds flying away, but she sure tried her best! Photobucket Photobucket

Then we went back to my studio for some shots there. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Thanks for another great session! Let me know if you're interested in holiday cards with these pics! :)

reposting- holiday mini-sessions...

I've had a few current customers ask if I'm planning any mini-sessions for this year like I've done in the past. I've thought about it and I've decided to try something new. I will not be booking regular sessions during these dates. These dates will be for mini-sessions ONLY. Here are the details...

November 16-22nd Mini-Sessions

  • 30 minute studio session for groups of 4 or fewer
  • bright white backdrop only
  • Christmas props available
  • session fees will have two options:

             A) $50 - you buy any prints that you want via an online proof gallery (no print credit included)

             B) $175 - I choose the best 12 photos, edit them to be print-ready and put them on a cd for you. I'll include a print release form so you can print them wherever you wish (though I highly recommend www.mpix.com ) and make your own cards, collages, etc.

These sessions do not have to be Christmas sessions. They can be any type of session you'd like as long as you understand there will be only a bright white backdrop (my favorite for nearly everything anyway!). The only type of session I will not do for these is a traditional newborn session. Ask if you have questions about this.

E-mail me now to set up a time for your mini-session! There's even a link over on the left side of this screen to "send Kim a message." Quick! No procrastinating! Do it right now while you're thinking about it. :)

stubborn (though absolutely adorable!) little bugger...

The D family came for their first session with me this morning. Such a cute family! Six-month-old A arrived at my house full of smiles, but also with a touch of a new cold starting. Well, the smiles ran out by the time we got downstairs into the studio. She flat out quit smiling.  And... I can't remember ever doing a six-month session where the baby can crawl away so quickly! She's a pro! Between her not smiling and bolting off the backdrop as fast as she could, I think she got her "I don't want my picture taken today" message across very well. LOL! (Though she didn't ever cry, so she couldn't have been tortured too badly, right?) Little did she know that I still managed to get a handful of super cute shots of her! Hey mom and dad... Don't tell her... let her think she won. :) I can't wait to get her back over here again when she's feeling better. I'm sure she'll be full of smiles then!

We got this one, thanks only to my daughter, Sydney, who came outside (in her nightgown and bare feet) to do jumping jacks to make A smile. I think I might have to start paying my kids soon. LOL!

It was great to meet you guys! Can't wait to see the great shots we'll get next time, too, when she's feeling better! Talk to you soon!

a new family for me...

I had the pleasure of meeting the S family last weekend. They came for a digital combo session. (That means studio and outdoor pictures. I choose my favorite 40ish photos, edit them in Photoshop to make them ready-to-print, and burn them onto a cd. They'll get the cd and a print release form so that they can have pictures printed wherever and whenever they wish. I do recommend http://www.mpix.com  for nearly pro-quality printing though.) Here are a handful of my favorites so far...

It was so nice to meet you guys! I hope I see you for another session in the future!
